Toreros Fall To Waves 6-1

MALIBU, Calif. - The Pepperdine Waves handed the San Diego Toreros their third straight road loss Saturday afternoon in a 6-1 rout at the Ralph-Straus Tennis Center. Pepperdine made quick work of clinching the double's point, picking up 8-1 and 8-3 victories on courts three and two, respectively. Omar Altmann and Richard Johnson made it a clean sweep for the Waves on court No. 1 with an 8-5 win. Altmann stretched the Pepperdine lead to 2-0 on court No. 5, winning in straight sets, 6-2, 6-1, over Ryo Sekiguchi. Andre Begemann pulled the Waves within one point of clinching the match by taking down Thomas Liversage, 6-3, 6-2 at the No. 1 position, and Bassam Beidas clinched the match with a 6-3, 6-4 victory over Chris Coetzee at the No. 2 position. Pepperdine went on to claim victories at the No. 4 and No. 5 positions, dropping just one match to San Diego at the No. 6 position as Matt Ozurovich won his 9th straight singles match.
