SPOKANE, Wash. - The Gonzaga men's tennis team won five out of the six singles matches and two out of the three doubles to take the win over Lewis and Clark State 6-1 on Friday afternoon at the Martin Tennis Courts. The Bulldogs started out strong winning the first four singles matches with no problem.
Reid Arthur playing in the No. 1 singles spot defeated Ara Sarkissian in two sets 7-6, 6-3. Playing next was Brett Womack against Borja Molas. Womack defeated Molas 6-4, 6-2. In the No. 3 singles position was Cooper Fratt who defeated Ari Zaslow 7-6, 6-1. Marco Pineda in the No. 4 spot defeated Cedric Dufour 6-3, 4-6, 8-7. Robert Penney in the No. 6 position defeated Ali Faris Mohamed 6-3, 3-6, 7-5.
In doubles Reid Arthur and Charles Adams playing in the No. 2 spot defeated Ari Zaslow and Dustin Forsyth 8-4. In the No. 3 position was Cooper Fratt and Robert Penney. Fratt and Penney defeated Cedric Dufour and Andy Hunt 8-5.
The Bulldogs are back in action on Saturday, when they will face Weber State.
