Davis, Ca - The USF's Men Tennis Team rebounded from its last loss to beat the UC Davis Aggies 5-2. The Dons captured the doubles point with superb playing by Senior Fernando Rodriguez and Andrew Hogan at #1. Sophomore Falko Huettenberger and Freshman Tommy Tu grinded out the #3 team from Davis by winning in a tiebreak, 9-8 (7-3).
In Singles, the Dons looked earlier on as if they would make a clean sweep, but settled for a 4-2 showing. Matt Berry was feeling the rhythm and hitting his backhand up the line super-clean to win in straight sets. Tommy Tu won to complete a sweep for the day. Hogan also completed a sweep winning 6-2, 6-4. Sophomore Greg Hom showed why he is considered the fastest player for the Dons picking up a win 6-1, 6-3.
The Dons return to action tomorrow against St. Mary's at 11 am in Golden Gate Park. Tomorrow is Senior Day so please come out and support the seniors who have competed hard for the Dons.
