Bulldogs Play Tough In Final Home Match

SPOKANE, Wash - The Gonzaga University men's tennis team played tough in their final home match of the season against Eastern Washington University on Wednesday afternoon. The Bulldogs won three out of the six singles matches, but only won one out of the three doubles matches. EWU came out on top of the Bulldogs 4-3.

Cooper Fratt defeated Brian Garfield in the No. 3 singles spot 6-2, 6-2. Marco Pineda played in the No. 4 position. Pineda defeated Patrick Millican in two sets 7-6, 7-6. In the No. 5 singles position was Charles Adams who defeated Art Karas 6-2, 6-3.

In doubles play Robert Penney and Cooper Fratt were the only Bulldogs to win their match. Penney and Fratt defeated Art Karas and Kyle Cruzat 8-5, in the No. 3 doubles spot.

The Bulldogs now head to Moraga, California to compete in the West Coast Conference Tournament. The matches will begin on Friday morning.
