Moraga, CA - The Saint Mary's men's tennis team lost to No. 4 seed San Francisco 4-3 in the first round of the West Coast Conference men's tennis championships Friday afternoon at the Korth Tennis Complex in Moraga, CA.
The Gaels were seeded No. 5 in the tournament which it is hosting on the Saint Mary's campus. Saint Mary's split with the Dons during the regular season. Winning 4-3 at home and losing 4-3 on the road.
In singles action, Christner won 7-5, 6-2 at the No. 5 singles spot and Alp Ozpinar won 1-6, 6-1, 6-2 at the No. 6 spot, giving the Gaels three points.
With both teams tied 3-3, the Gaels surrounded court two as Tizot went to a third set at the No. 2 spot, but ended up losing 6-3, 2-6, 6-3.
