Men's Tennis Topples Santa Clara to Finish Third in WCC's

The USF men's tennis team defeated Bay Area rival Santa Clara 4-1 to take third place at the WCC Championships Sunday afternoon at St. Mary's College. USF won the doubles points and then took the match after singles wins by Matthew Berry, Thong Tu and Fernando Rodriguez.

After Berry and Korbian Kramer won at #1 doubles and Falko Huettenberger and Thong Tu won at number three the Dons had a 1-0 lead heading into doubles.

Berry defeated Jan Macek 6-2, 3-6, 6-2 at number one singles, Tu topped Bobby Rassmussen 6-3, 6-2 at number four and Fernando Rodriguez took Tommy Hicks 1-6, 6-4, 6-1 to clinch the victory.
