Terrien Leads Lions at UCI Challenge

Irvine, Calif. - Loyola Marymount men's tennis finished its fall season-opener Sunday at the UC Irvine Pre-Regional Challenge. Senior Nico Terrien finished 3-1 on the weekend in singles to lead the Lions.

Terrien finished the tournament 3-1 overall in singles after Sunday's 6-0, 3-6, 6-2 win over Michael Platzer of Northern Arizona.

Freshmen Nick Perez and Nikola Petrov finished 2-2 in singles play.

Senior Reyniere Roxas bounced back from three very close losses earlier in the tournament for a 6-2, 6-4 victory over FernandoFreitas of Northern Arizona.

In doubles play, the Lions' team of Roxas and freshmanNick Von Der Ahe finished the Challenge 2-0 after an 8-2 victory over NAU'sBristow/Hayward.

Next up for the Lions is the ITA Regional at PepperdineOctober 18-22.
