Dojcak, Radetzky Earn Wins In First Day Of ITA Action

Stanford, Calif. - Roman Dojcak and Zach Radetzky of the Gonzaga University men's tennis team earned wins in the opening round of singles play Friday at the ITA Regionals hosted by Stanford University in Stanford, Calif.

Dojcak opened ITA play with a two-set victory over Mitch Del Rosario of University of San Francisco (6-2, 6-1) in the singles round of 128. Radetzky posted a victory in the opening round in straight sets over Cal-Poly's Aaron Elbert (6-4, 6-4)

Niether Dojcak or Radetzky were able to advance in the main draw to finish the day, with both falling in the second round. Dojcak fell to Stanford's Ricard Wire (6-2, 6-1), while Radetzky fell to Nicolai Horgen of the University of California (6-3, 6-3).

Dojcak and his doubles partner, Brett Womack, posted a win in the opening round of doubles play. The GU duo defeated Santa Clara University's Kenzo Hirakawa-Wong and Aneal Vallurupalli, 8-4. The Bulldogs will face a team from Stanford Saturday morning in the round of 32.

Also competing in the final tournament of the fall season is Charles Adams, Bryce Cooper, Cooper Fratt, and Marco Pineda.
