LOS ANGELES - After a five-match road swing, Loyola Marymount men's tennis returns home to host a Saturday doubleheader this weekend at the LMU Tennis Center. The Lions (1-5) will take on 6th-ranked Fresno Pacific (NAIA) at 10:00 a.m. and Claremont at 3:00 p.m.
LMU has played four nationally-ranked opponents in its last five matches and will face another one in 6th-ranked Fresno Pacific Saturday morning.
"Both teams are highly-ranked nationally and have an excellent chance of winning national titles this year," LMU Head Coach Nik DeVore said. "In California, there are very few teams that you can take for granted. Typically, the top-5 teams in DIII and NAIA are just as strong as DI teams ranked in the nation's top-75. Both of these teams beat DI teams every year, so we had better be ready for a real battle. Hopefully, we can rebound from our lackluster performance this past weekend at San Francisco. It will be nice to play at home again after five very difficult road matches."
The Lions and Sunbirds will begin play at 10:00 a.m.
