SAN BRUNO, Calif. --- The West Coast Conference men's tennis season is well underway. All nine teams are currently competing in non-conference action and will begin the conference round robin schedule on March 23.


  • San Diego's match against No. 11 Texas will be televised live on the Longhorn Network at 4:00 PM PT.

  • Santa Clara cracked the ITA's Top 30 with a jump to No. 29 after blanking its last three opponents.

  • After suffering six tough losses earlier in the season, the Waves put together three straight victories to battle back to a 6-6 overall record. The Waves clinched two 4-3 heartbreakers over No. 19 Tulsa and No. 20 Oklahoma.

  • BYU currently rides a five-match win streak. Three of those victories were sweeps. The most recent win was a 5-2 deci- sion over No. 35 Boise State that lasted nearly seven hours.

  • LMU is 3-of-4 over its last four matches. The Lions defeated Pacific and UC Davis on the road and UC Riverside at home. In the 6-1 loss to No. 51 Rice, junior Nicholas Bjerke tallied the lone LMU point at the No. 1 singles spot, making it his third straight singles victory.

  • After riding a seven match win streak, Portland lost its first match of the season at No. 67 UTSA, 6-1. The Pilots took the doubles point with wins at the No. 1 and 3 spots.

  • Saint Mary's picked up two wins, one on the road at UC Riverside and the other against UC Davis at home. Against the Aggies, the Gaels swept the doubles point and took four of the top five singles matches.
