LOS ANGELES - After five matches on the road, Loyola Marymount men's tennis returns to the LMU Tennis Center to host a three-match home stand. First up for the Lions (3-10) will be West Coast Conference foe Gonzaga (6-9) Thursday at 1:30 p.m.
"It's nice to finally be able to play at home," LMU Head Coach Nik DeVore said. "Eleven of our first 14 matches have been on the road, and 11 of the teams we played this season were nationally ranked. We play a challenging schedule in order to toughen up the guys for the later part of the season when we are preparing for the WCC Championships. We haven't come close to showing our potential yet. Hopefully this next home stretch, which has us playing seven of our last nine matches at the LMU Tennis Center, will be just what the doctor ordered."
Gonzaga enters Thursday's match with six victories over quality opponents including Montana, UC Davis, Utah State, and Montana State, who the Lions will visit in April.
"Gonzaga is tough this year, so our guys had better be ready," DeVore said. "The WCC is deeper than ever before. We will have our hands full this time around."
