SAN BRUNO, Calif.-Gonzaga University junior Hayden Smith has been named the West Coast Conference Singles Player of the Week, while Loyola Marymount freshmen Errol Smith and Joat Farah earn doubles weekly honor in the sport of men's tennis, the league announced Tuesday.

Smith led the Bulldogs to a 3-1 showing over spring break. The Breakfast Point, Australia, native also went 3-1 over the four matches, claiming individual wins in each of Gonzaga's three team wins. The first victory came as Smith beat SIUE's Jacob Perkins in two sets at No. 3 singles, helping the Bulldogs beat the Cougars 5-2. Two days later, he posted the biggest win in the match against Youngstown State, taking 12 of 16 games from Bassem El Mekawi. Smith's win was the Bulldogs first point in a 4-3-comeback victory over the Penguins. He later earned the tying point against Sacramento State, defeating the Hornets' Tom Miller in two sets to help the Bulldogs get another comeback win. This is Smiths first weekly honor since Alvaro Nazal won the award October 4, 2012.

Smith and Farah played at No. 1 doubles against Yale in LMU's lone competition of the week, topping Fedor Andrienko and Stafan Doehler, 6-3, to help the Lions earn the doubles point and the win. The pair is now 5-2 overall, including 2-1 at No. 1 doubles this year. Smith earns his second WCC honor, while Farah claim his first weekly nod.
