March 19, 2007

MALIBU, Calif. - The Pepperdine men's tennis team has won 52 straight home matches dating back to the 2004 season but maintain the streak will be no short order Tuesday afternoon when the Waves host No. 2 Ohio State at 1 p.m. PDT.

Pepperdine is 9-0 at the Ralph-Straus Tennis Center this season after pulling off a 5-2 upset victory over then-No. 12 Texas on March 15.

The Waves have had recent success against the nation's elite teams, downing then-top-ranked Virginia, 4-3, in the 2005 season opener and bettering then-No. 2-Illinios, 5-2, in 2005.

Tuesday's match is the final tilt in a four-match homestand for Pepperdine which travels to Honolulu, Hawaii for a pair of matches before returning to Malibu to host Louisville on Fri., March 30.
