SAN BRUNO, Calif. --- The West Coast Conference men's tennis teams are a little more than one month away from the WCC Tennis Championships, Presented by the Andre Agassi Foundation for Education. All nine WCC teams will begin this year's conference single round robin schedule this week.

QUICK HITS

  • 2012 marks the first year the all WCC tennis teams will compete in a conference single round robin schedule. Conference action began last Tuesday with San Francisco defeating Saint Mary's, 5-2.

  • Santa Clara is on a seven-match win streak, topping its last three opponents in 5-2 fashion. Of those seven wins, the Broncos defeated two ranked opponents, No. 35 Boise State and No. 46 New Mexico.

  • No. 16 San Diego went 2-1 in the Hilton San Diego Mission Valley Spring Classic with wins over Marquette and Oklahoma State before falling to No. 26 Harvard, 4-2.

  • Pepperdine has won its last six matches. Its most recent win was 6-1 victory over Texas Tech to start off a six-match homestand, in which the Waves will host three more non-conference opponents and two WCC opponents from the Bay Area, Santa Clara and San Francisco.

  • BYU is currently riding a seven-match win streak, winning its last three matches by a 5-2 score. The Cougars return to action in conference play at Santa Clara on Friday.

  • Portland has won 12 straight doubles points this season. Its most recent victory, a 5-2 win, came over Montana.

  • Gonzaga travelled to Southern California and took home three wins over matches. The Zags defeated Farleigh Dickinson, UC Riverside and Boston University by a score of 6-1.
