SAN BRUNO, Calif. -- With four WCC men's teams currently among the ITA's top 75, several upcoming Conference matches feature ranked opponents. The Conference will also have a clear leader after this weekend, as current co-leaders BYU and Saint Mary's face off in Provo, Utah on Saturday, March 30.

  • Pepperdine continues to pace the WCC in the ITA rankings, coming in at No. 6 in the March 26 edition. The Waves were joined by No. 37 San Diego, who continues its climb up the poll, No. 40 BYU, and No. 67 Santa Clara.

  • In recent Conference action, Saint Mary's hosted both Gonzaga and Portland last weekend. The Gaels came away with two victories, besting the Zags by a score of 6-1, and outlasting the Pilots in a tight 4-3 match. Saint Mary's junior Tuomas Manner was a bright spot for the Gaels on the weekend posting a perfect 4-0 record at No. 3 singles and No. 2 doubles with sophomore partner Samuel Bloore.

  • BYU has continued to build a strong 2013 campaign, as it moved to 3-0 in WCC play with a recent home win over San Francisco. The Dons opened the day by winning the doubles point, but the Cougars roared back in singles play, taking four of six matches for a final score of 4-3. BYU will test its current three-match win streak against fellow WCC leader Saint Mary's this weekend in Provo, Utah.

  • Loyola Marymount nearly pulled off an upset of cross-town rival Pepperdine last Wednesday, as the Lions took the Waves down to the last point of the match. LMU jumped out to an early 1-0 lead by clinching the doubles point, but Pepperdine's singles attack proved to be too much, as the Waves piled up four wins, including senior Finn Tearney's clinching point at No. 1 singles, to take the match by a score of 4-3.
