SAN DIEGO, Calif. --- Six West Coast Conference men's tennis teams competed in the first round of the 2012 WCC Tennis Championships, presented by the Andre Agassi Foundation for Education at the Barnes Tennis Center in San Diego, Calif. BYU, San Francisco and Portland defeated their opponents to continue on to the second round, which is scheduled to take place at 9:30 AM on Thursday.
No. 4 seed BYU defeated #9 Gonzaga by a score of 4-1, while No. 6 Portland defeated No. 7 Saint Mary's by the same score. No. 8 seed San Francisco upset No. 5 Loyola Marymount by securing the doubles point and three singles matches at the No. 1, 3 and 6 positions. For quick video hits of the winning teams, click here .
Tomorrow's matches will feature BYU versus Portland and San Francisco against No. 3 seed San Diego, which received a bye into the second round.
