SAN DIEGO, Calif.-- The 2013 WCC Men's Tennis Championship continued this afternoon as No. 1 Pepperdine picked up where it left off in the regular season, posting a 4-0 win over San Francisco. The Waves took close matches at Nos. 2 and 3 doubles to earn the point, before closing out the match with straight set singles wins by Francis Alcantara (No. 4), Sebastian Fanselow (No. 1), and David Sofaer (No. 6). San Francisco was in the midst of second set comebacks at Nos. 2 and 5 singles before the matches went unfinished. With the win, Pepperdine advances to tomorrow's Championship final.

The highlight of the afternoon came in the day's second match between No. 2 BYU and No. 3 San Diego. The Cougars claimed an early advantage by earning the doubles point with wins at Nos. 2 and 3. However, San Diego was not to be outdone, and came storming back with singles wins by Clarke Spinosa (No. 2), Victor Pugliese (No. 5), and Uros Petronijevic (No. 3) to take a 3-2 lead over the Cougars. With the final two matches going to the third set, BYU's John Pearce claimed victory at No. 6 singles, and BYU's Patrick Kawka fought off a hard charging Thibaut Visy at No. 1 singles to clinch the match, and BYU's first ever WCC Men's Tennis Championship final appearance.
