San Bruno, Calif. - Four Lions received All-West Coast Conference recognition with the announcement of conference men's tennis selections Monday. Nico Terrien, Reyniere Roxas, Mike Wojnarowicz, and Michael Chan represent Loyola Marymount among the WCC's best.
Terrien highlighted the selections for the Lions, receiving the nod for the All-WCC second-team. The junior finished his 2005-06 campaign 20-14 overall, improving his career record to 68-35 after three seasons. He also achieved the highest individual ranking in LMU history when he earned a ranking of 76th in the ITA national rankings.
Terrien and doubles partner Mike Chan received All-WCC honorable mention recognition. The duo set a new LMU single-season record for doubles team victories, going 21-6. That mark passed the previous record of 20-7 set by Johannes Asuja (2001-03) and Anthony Evrard (2001-03) in 2002.
Roxas and Wojnarowicz rounded out the LMU selections, both earning honorable mention All-WCC recognition in singles. In his first season with the Lions, the junior Roxas went 19-11 overall and won 12 of his last 15 matches at No. 3 singles. The graduate Wojnarowicz now holds the career singles victory record with an overall record of 82-60, passing former teammate Beau Berglund (2001-05).
