Malibu, Calif. - After advancing to the championship match of the NCAA Doubles, senior Scott Doerner and sophomore Andre Begemann were named to the 2006 ITA All-America Team, it was announced last week. The Wave duo finished the season with a 31-6 record and a No. 2 national ranking.
Players earn ITA All-America honors in singles and/or doubles based on their final national ranking, advancement at the NCAA Championships and seeding at the NCAA Championships.
Begemann earned his first All-America honors in doubles, while Doerner garnered All-America honors for the second straight year in doubles and earned his first All-America honors in singles after finishing the year ranked at No. 14.
The Waves culminated their tremendous season with the program's first NCAA National Championship on May 23, concluding the year with a 36-2 record.
