Moraga, CA - The Saint Mary's men's tennis team jumps into fall competition, hosting the Saint Mary's Challenge at the Korth Tennis Complex on Saturday. The tournament begins on Saturday, 22 at 9:00 AM and will conclude on Sunday, September 23 at 9:00 AM.
The Challenge's competition includes San Francisco, Pacific, and Team Great Britain. The Saint Mary's Challenge will consist of round robin play, with competition mixed between the four teams each day. The teams will only face each opponent (team/school) once per day.
Team Great Britain is made up of the top seven university players throughout England, and will be making a trip to the West Coast to compete in the Saint Mary's Challenge. Team Great Britain is coached by John Whiteford and will face Stanford and California in addition to the tournament during their West Coast outing. Saint Mary's faced Team Great Britain in 2005 in an exhibition match-up.
Each day the tournament will start at 9:00 AM and continue throughout the day into the late afternoon.
