USF Men's Tennis Sends Two to Polo All-American Championship

Sept. 21, 2006

(San Francisco) - After a strong season finish at the 2006 WCC Championships last April, the USF Dons will start the season off by sending two singles players to the Polo All-American Championship in Tulsa Oklahoma, Monday, October 2 to Wednesday, October 4. The Polo All-American Championship is the largest collegiate tennis tournament in the country and one of four of the major national championship tournaments.

USF's top two returners, senior Matt Berry and junior Falko Huttenberger, have been selected to represent USF in singles play. They will have their hands full attempting to make their way through the very deep and talented pool of selected players.

The last time USF sent players to the All-American was in 2003 when three Dons, Joachim Lien, Jorgen Arnesen, and Pablo Pires de Almeida, were selected to represent the Hilltop netters.

San Francisco will play in their first warm-up event at St. Mary's College Friday, September 22 to Sunday, September 24 in a hidden duel team event.
