Pilots Sign Junior Tennis Standout

Nov. 22, 2006

Dillon Pottish (East Quogue, N.Y.) has signed a National Letter of Intent to join the Pilots in the fall of 2007, head men's tennis coach Aaron Gross (pictured) has announced. He is the first player from the East Coast to join the squad during coach Gross' tenure.

Pottish comes to The Bluff with an impressive résumé of junior tennis results. He has been one of the top ranked juniors in the USTA Eastern section and has been ranked among the top 50 players in the nation. Last summer, Pottish won 5 matches at the Boys Nationals at Kalamazoo, the most prestigious junior tournament in the country, after reaching the finals of the Copper Bowl in Tucson, Ariz.

"We are really excited to have Dillon join us," coach Gross said. "He has tremendous experience and is a very solid competitor mentally. There is no question that with his maturity he will be one of those freshmen that will come in and make an immediate impact."
