LOS ANGELES - Loyola Marymount's Reyniere Roxas finished the fall season ranked among the best in the ITA's West Region, one of the toughest regions in the nation. Roxas, whose fall season was highlighted by a quarterfinal appearance at the ITA Regional, comes in ranked 28th in the West.
"It's not easy getting a regional ranking in the West," LMU Head Coach Nik DeVore said. "The West is by far one of the toughest regions in the nation, so this is quite an honor for Reyniere. He had a pretty solid fall season. Hopefully Rey, along with the rest of the guys, can step things up in the spring and help us earn a national team ranking."
Roxas' ranking marks the third time in program history that a Lion has finished the fall among the region's best. Previously, current teammate Nico Terrien (2005) and former standout TigranMartirosyan (2002) finished among the region's best.
Roxas and the Lions open the 2007 season at home when Air Force visits the LMU Tennis Center for a 10:00 a.m. match Monday, January 15th.
