MALIBU, Calif. - Paul Carroll recorded a match-high 21 kills on .731 hitting with four service aces, John Parfitt added 11 kills and Pepperdine swept Cal Baptist Tuesday night in the Waves' 2007 season opener.
As a team, Pepperdine hit .451 for the match after hitting .581 and .433 in games one and two, respectively.
Cal Baptist (0-4) was led by Shamau Awudu who ended the night with 18 kills on .556 hitting, Yukai Sun had seven kills and Urs Gunthor added five.
Pepperdine will continue its four-match home stand Friday night as it opens Mountain Pacific Sports Federation play against No. 12 Southern California. First serve is slated for 7 p.m. at Firestone Fieldhouse.
