MALIBU, Calif. - Pepperdine's Sean Rooney was tabbed as the Sports Import/AVCA "National Player of the Week," for his efforts in leading the third-ranked Waves to a pair of wins last week over No. 9 Pacific and No. 8 Stanford.
The six-foot-nine outside hitter opened the 2005 campaign with a career-high 36-kill, seven-ace performance as Pepperdine outlasted the Tigers 3-2 in Stockton, Calif.
