Tom Hulse Named MPSF Player of the Week

MALIBU, Calif. - Pepperdine's Tom Hulse was named Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF) Player of the Week Wednesday afternoon by the conference office. The 6-foot-8 sophomore joins Sean Rooney and John Mayer as other Waves to earn the conference's weekly honor this season.

Hulse set a new career-high with 13 total blocks, one solo and 12 assisted, in leading the Waves to a 27.5-11.0 advantage as Pepperdine pulled out a dramatic 3-2 victory over Hawaii on March 2. The following Friday, the Evanston, Ill., native recorded eight kills on 10 errorless swings (.800) and turned back nine attempts at the net lifting Pepperdine to its 10th consecutive victory.

The Waves will be back in action with a pair of MPSF matches against #12 UC Irvine and #1 UCLA. Both matches are scheduled for 7:00 p.m. (PT) first serves at Firestone Fieldhouse in Malibu, Calif., on Thursday and Saturday, respectively.
