The top-ranked Pepperdine Waves return home Thursday night after a two-match road trip in Hawaii to face Rutgers-Newark at 7 p.m. PDT in Firestone Fieldhouse. The Waves have won their last 13 matches headed into this week's action.
Pepperdine is in line to clinch a berth in the Mountain Pacific Sports (MPSF) tournament as the Waves' magic number for qualifying is two with a 13-1 MPSF record and 16-1 record overall.
The Waves have won 13 straight matches and are ranked No. 1 in the latest CSTV/AVCA Coaches' Poll. It marks the fourth straight week Pepperdine has held down the top spot.
After hosting the Scarlet Raiders, Pepperdine will return to league play when it travels to La Jolla, Calif. to face the UC San Diego Tritons at 7 p.m. The Waves are 31-0 all-time against UCSD, including a 3-1 victory on January 18 of this year.
