MALIBU, Calif. - The Pepperdine men's volleyball team departs today for Copenhagen, Denmark where the team will begin an eleven-day international exhibition tour. The tour will also make stops in Sweden and Germany before the team returns to the States on Sun., Aug. 27.

"We are looking at this as a great opportunity," said Pepperdine head coach Marv Dunphy. "Thanks to the generosity and effort of Fred Sturm, we are going to gain valuable international experience."

Strum served as an assistant coach for the US Olympic team under Dunphy and is currently coaching the Denmark national team.

Pepperdine is traveling 13 student-athletes but will be without freshman standout Paul Carroll who is traveling with the Australian national team.

The Waves will be housed just outside of Copenhagen at Brondby Iddrattenshus, Denmark's national team training center. While abroad, Pepperdine will compete against club teams from several different countries.
