The Waves, who improved to 5-3 on the season, won by scores of 30-27, 31-29 and 30-14. Arizona fell to 3-3 on the year. Pepperdine knocked down 56 kills on 114 attempts and committed just seven attack errors as all six Waves' starters finished the match with a .300 or better hitting percentage.
Junior outside hitter Katie Wilkins led Pepperdine's attack with 13 kills, while sophomore outside hitter Brie Harris totaled 12 kills and hit .571 for the contest and did not commit and error.
Junior middle blocker Lyndsey Hache' finished the match with 11 kills and five block assists for the Waves. Arizona freshman Kim Glass recorded a match-high 20 kills for the Wildcats. In the third and decisive game, Pepperdine registered a blistering .538 hitting percentage as it totaled 15 kills in 26 attempts and committed just one error.
Pepperdine returns to action on Friday, September 13, when it travels to South Bend, Indiana, to compete in the Notre Dame Tournament. The Waves open play against Loyola-Maryland and will also face Northwestern and the host Irish during the two-day tournament at the Joyce Center.
