The UC Riverside Highlanders had their seven match winning streak snapped by the University of San Diego 18-30, 30-17, 30-25, 24-30, 13-15 on Tuesday at UC Riverside??s Student Recreation Center. In the fifth game, San Diego (6-2) jumped out to a 12-6 lead and held on to hand UC Riverside (7-2) just their second loss of the season.

Junior??s Noel Frohman and Debra Robertson combined to total 39 kills and seven blocks. Senior middle-blocker Lindsey Lampert added three blocks and 14 kills with help from senior setter Ali Martin who gave out 56 assists on the night. USD was without freshman starter Jocelyne Roy, who missed the trip due to a leg injury.

The Highlanders gave the Toreros all they could handle, winning the first game with sophomore Rosanna Parizek leading the way totaling nine blocks in the match.

USD continues to play on the road with matches against Wyoming Friday, September 21st and the Toreros will face #11 Colorado State Saturday, September 22nd.
