Sep 23-San Francisco's Teresa Russell was named the WCC volleyball Player of the Week for her performance at the Viking Classic

Russell catapulted the Dons to three wins at the Viking Classic, giving San Francisco the best start in WCC history at 15-0. Russell averaged 4.73 kills, posting an impressive .426 hitting percentage (just 12 errors in 94 attacks) to go along with 1.45 digs and 1.18 blocks. Russell earned MVP honors and her selection to the all-tournament squad was the fourth for the Simi Valley, CA native. Russell pounded 21 kills against Air Force on .562 hitting to go along with seven blocks. Against Portland State, USF dropped game one and trailed 12-9 in game two before Russell took over, recording a solo block and kills on six consecutive points, spearheading the Dons? 21-6 run. Russell recorded eight kills in game two alone, finishing with 20 kills, adding six digs and four blocks against PSU.
