San Diego swept #20 Santa Clara 30-28, 30-21, 30-26 Friday night in the Jenny Craig Pavilion in front of 441 spectators who witnessed a career effort by Torero junior OH Noel Frohman.

Frohman, the WCC Player of the Week, totaled 19 kills in 34 attempts without committing a hitting error. Frohman posted a career best .559 hitting percentage while teammate, MB Lindsey Lampert dominated the net, blocking four and totaling 14 kills.

The win marks San Diego?s second upset of a top 25 team this season, beating #15 Minnesota 3-2 back on September 8th. As a team San Diego recorded a .318 hitting percentage compared to a Bronco team that hit .125.

Santa Clara received a team-high 12 kills from MB Toni Muratore, while OH Cindy Hirsch had eight digs.

The three game victory improves San Diego?s record to 8-3 and 1-0 in the WCC, Santa Clara drops to 7-4, 0-1.
