Katie Wilkins and Stacy Rouwenhorst combined for 39 kills Saturday as #13 Pepperdine (6-2/2-0) beat Portland (3-7/0-2), 33-31, 30-25, 30-20 in West Coast Conference volleyball action.

Wilkins had 21 kills, six digs and four block assists, while Rouwenhorst added 18 kills, 10 digs and two block assists. Paola Rodriguez added 48 assists and eight digs for the Waves.

Anna Abatzoglou topped Portland with 10 kills, while Bridget DeChant added nine kills and a team-high 11 digs. Heather Denison also had eight kills, one solo block and two assists.

Portland led 28-24 in the first game, but saw Pepperdine battle back to a 30-29 lead before a Julie Allen dump tied the score. Bridget Beschen and Denison collected a block to put Portland up 31-30, but a Pilot service error knotted the score. After a Lyndsay Hache' kill, Wilkins put the first game away with a kill down the middle.

Pepperdine, which hit just .167 in the first game, then hit .439 in the second game as the Waves made just three attack errors in 41 attempts.

In game three, Pepperdine crept out to a 17-11 lead, then put Portland away as the Pilots struggled to maintain consistency.
