The University of California women's volleyball team handed Saint Mary's their seventh straight loss, defeating the Gaels in three games (30-24, 30-28, 30-25) at Hass Pavilion. Saint Mary's led all three games early on, but couldn't hold off the Bear's advances.

Junior Rachel Avilla led the Gaels in kills with eight and added seven digs to her performance. Rebecca Wood had the higest hitting percentage for SCM (.400) tallying six kills, no errors and 15 attempts. Brooke Lowry added a team high 10 digs to the night.

Cal was led by senior setter/outside hitter Candace McNamee, who finished the match with a .316 hitting percentage (nine kills, three errors, 19 attempts). McNamee also had five aces.

Saint Mary's is now 2-9 on the season (0-2 in WCC). The team will be in action this weekend, taking on WCC rival San Diego on Saturday and UC Irvine on Sunday.
