The USF Dons swept the University of Portland Pilots Friday 30-22, 30-21, 31-29. With the win USF improves to 7-5 overall and 2-1 in West Coast Conference play while Portland falls to 3-8 overall and 0-3 in league action.

USF's offense was strong as sophomore outside hitter Brittanie Budinger and junior middle blocker Teresa Russell combined for 33 kills on their home court. Topping the defense tonight was senior outside hitter Amanda Willnerd's ten digs that induct her as the newest member of the 700 kills 700 digs club with 704 digs and 924 digs.

Portland was unable to answer the offense of the Dons. USF tallied 51 kills in the match against the Pilots' 37, out-hitting Portland .238 to .122 for the match.

Leading the way for the Pilots was senior outside hitter Bridget DeChant, senior opposite hitter Bridget Beschen, and freshman middle blocker Michelle Oakland with seven kills apiece. Senior setter Julie Allen and Kuulei Kamanao's nine digs each helped the Pilots' defensive cause.
