Pepperdine, Santa Clara, and San Diego all earned a spot in the NCAA Pacific top ten poll for the week of 10/9 through 10/16

Pepperdine, Santa Clara, and San Diego all earned a spot in the NCAA Pacific top ten poll for the week of 10/9 through 10/16. The Waves sit at #3, the Broncos are at #7, and grabbing the #10 spot are the Toreros.

At the conclusion of the 2001 season the same three teams received top ten rankings in the final AVCA Pacific Region poll. Since the NCAA shifted to eight region's in 1995, last season marked the sixth year in a row that the WCC has placed at least three teams in the top ten of the Pacific Region. In 1998 and 1999 there were four teams that were ranked in the Pacific top ten. Prior to this year Pepperdine has been in the top ten five consecutive years. Santa Clara has made it to the top ten five staight years, and San Diego has cracked the top ten for the second year in a row.

Pepperdine, who was ranked #8 in the preseason, are currently ranked #12. Santa Clara has received an AVCA Top 25 ranking of #14, which is ties the highest ranking in that poll, and come in at #13 in the Volleyball Magazine poll, which is the highest ranking in any poll in school history. San Diego is also trying to break into the Top 25 this year as they received 60 votes from the AVCA.
