Oct. 13 -- Gonzaga's Abby Cullen and San Diego's Devon Forster each finished with 21 kills but it was the Toreros who were able to pull a West Coast Conference victory on Saturday night at Martin Centre. San Diego won the contest in five games 30-28, 30-21, 27-30, 30-32 and 15-9. San Diego improves to 14-3 overall, 5-0 in the WCC while Gonzaga fell to 5-11, 2-4 in the WCC.

San Diego and Gonzaga battled back and forth in the opening game before the Toreros were able to grab the 30-28 win. Noel Frohman had four kills in the game one win as she finished the night with 16 kills for San Diego. USD cruised to a 30-21 game two victory as setter Ali Martin (72 assists) set up Forster and middle blocker Lindsay Lampert.

Gonzaga battled back in the third game pulling out to a 25-23 advantage before Zuzana Tumova and Natasha Kozen combined for three kills down the stretch as Gonzaga won 30-27 in game three. In game four Gonzaga had three game point advantages before Christina Davis connected on back-to-back kills for the Zags 32-30 victory. Davis would finish second on the Zags roster with 17 kills.

San Diego stormed out to the early lead in game five as Lampert knocked down three straight points en route to a 15 kill evening. Forster served the final three points for San Diego as the Toreros won their fourteenth straight match over Gonzaga.

Tumova finished two blocks shy of a triple-double for Gonzaga as she compiled 16 kills, 11 digs and 8 blocks. Katerina Chroustovska led the Zags serving attack with four of the Zags nine aces. Forster added 17 digs to her 21 kill night for San Diego while Debra Robertson added 17 kills.
