October 15-University of San Diego Volleyball team swept cross-town rival San Diego State (30-28, 30-17, 30-26) Tuesday night in USD's Jenny Craig Pavilion. The Toreros improved to 17-4 on the season while the Aztecs fell to 13-9 overall. Torero senior Noel Frohman finished the night with a match-high 20 kills and freshman setter Lindsey Sherburne had 58 assists.

With the score even at 28 in game one, Torero sophomore Kristen Hurst made an improbable dig to keep the ball alive and allow USD to take the point and eventually the game 30-28. After the heavily contested opening game that yielded six lead changes and 11 ties, USD took control of the match winning easily in game two 30-17. Frohman and sophomore teammate Devon Forster would put the Aztecs away in game three. Forster would total 17 kills on the night and defensive specialist Brynne Young tallied 24 digs.

USD (17-4, 2-1 WCC) swept the season series against the Aztecs after claiming a 3-1 decision at SDSU's Peterson Gym on September 17th. The Toreros will continue their current homestand with conference matches on both Friday and Saturday night.

The Aztecs fell to 13-9 and remain 4-1 in the Mountain West Conference. SDSU received a team-high 12 kills from junior Aspen McPartland. Senior setter Melissa Wright totaled 35 assists.
