Oct. 19 -- The San Diego volleyball team had a seven-game winning streak snapped Friday night in four games by the Loyola Marymount Lions in front of a season-high 767 spectators in the Jenny Craig Pavilion. The match yielded four close games with LMU coming out on top, 32-34, 30-21, 31-29, 30-22.

Loyola Marymount received 25 kills from junior OH Kristen Gallup and a game-high 23 digs by junior OH Laura Gustorf. The Lions improved to 9-7 and 3-3 in the WCC, breaking a three-game conference losing streak.

The Toreros took game one 34-32 thanks to eight kills by junior OH Noel Frohman. Frohman and the Toreros would proceed to lose the next three games, with Gallup and teammates Kealani Kimball and Dina Debernardi leading the way with Kimball and Debernardi combining to kill 23.

San Diego drops to 14-4 and suffers their first conference loss of the season and are now 5-1 in the WCC. Senior Ali Martin totaled 52 assists.
