Oct. 30 -- Eastern Washington (15-3) rolled to big leads early in games one and three Tuesday night as the host Eagles downed Gonzaga (7-14) during a non-league match at Reese Court. Eastern Washington won the contest in three games, 30-19, 30-27 and 30-16.

EWU built an early 15-7 lead in game one as Janelle Ruen knocked down three kills to spark an early Eagles run. Gonzaga could never counter in the opener as the Eagles hit .333 as a team compared to .105 for Gonzaga during the 30-19 win.

Gonzaga took the early lead in game two building a 20-15 lead on consecutive kills by Christina Davis. Laura Campbell added three of her six kills to give the Zags a 25-23 lead but Eastern Washington posted a late rally behind Robyn Felder's two kills to win the contest 30-27.

Eastern Washington again rolled to an early lead in game three, leading 20-9 at one point in the contest. The Eagles used a balanced attack and took advantage of nine Gonzaga attack errors to win the contest 30-16.

Christina Davis led all players with 13 kills for Gonzaga while Zuzana Tomova finished with eight. Eastern Washington was led by Ruen, Felder and Lindsay Page all with eight kills. The Eagles outblocked Gonzaga 21-7, Page leading all players with six blocks.
