Junior outside hitter Katie Wilkins posted a double-double as she recorded a match-high 25 kills and added 13 digs to lead No. 10 Pepperdine to a four-game victory over previously-undefeated and No. 6-ranked UC Santa Barbara in a non-conference match Wednesday night the Thunderdome in Santa Barbara.

The Waves won by scores of 30-26, 26-30, 30-28, 30-18 to improve to 17-6 on the season and extend their current winning streak to a season-high eight matches.

Pepperdine also ended UC Santa Barbara's national-leading 23-match winning streak as it handed the Gauchos (23-1) their first loss of the season.

The Waves' win over UC Santa Barbara was their first at the Thunderdome since 1989 when they also won in four games.

Pepperdine received solid play throughout its line-up as junior middle blocker Stacy Rouwenhorst had 17 kills, hit .394 and totaled five blocks, while junior middle blocker Lyndsey Hache' had 11 kills and hit .360.

The Waves also played outstanding defense as they recorded 99 digs in the contest, including a match-high 24 from senior setter Paola Rodriguez. Rodriguez also totaled 56 set assists and hit .300.

Pepperdine returns to action on Saturday when it hosts local rival Loyola Marymount in a West Coast Conference match at Firestone Fieldhouse beginning at 7 p.m.
