Nov. 9 -- USF was swept by the Lions of Loyola Marymount University 30-21, 30-26, 30-27 in West Coast Conference play on Friday at War Memorial Gym. The loss brings the Dons season record to 9-13, 4-8 in conference play and improves the Lions to 14-8 on the year, 7-4 in WCC action.

Senior outside hitter Amanda Willnerd led the Dons with a team-high 15 kills. Willnerd finished the game hitting .448 and recording seven digs. Sophomore setter April Scoggin tallied a team-high 39 assists in the match. Sophomore opposite hitter Caroline Skacel led the team in digs with 13 and in blocks with two. She is joined by sophomore middle blocker Liz Macausland with 13 digs and by senior outside hitter Katherine Kroenig with two blocks as well.

Offensively, the teams were matched with USF hitting .241 and LMU hitting .284. The Lions led in games one and three, hitting .308 and .302 respectfully. USF led in game two out hitting the LMU .273 to .245. The Dons struggled in game three hitting .193.

For the Lions, sophomore middle blocker Kealani Kimball recorded a match-high 18 kills for LMU and hit a match-high .457 for the match while sharing a match-high four blocks with teammates junior outside hitter Kristen Gallup and freshman middle blocker Dina DeBernardi, who recorded a .391 average against the Dons. The Lions were led defensively by junior outside hitter Laura Gustorf who recorded a match-high 19 digs. Sophomore setter Nicole Oehlman recorded a match-high 44 assists for LMU.
