Nov. 10 -- The Saint Mary's women's volleyball team (5-18/2-10 WCC) defeated Gonzaga (8-17/4-9 WCC), in a West Coast Conference match, 3-0, on Saturday night. Gaels outside hitter Rachel Avilla had a double-double with 11 kills and 12 digs in the win.

On the heels of last night first conference win over Portland, Saint Mary's earned its second WCC victory by sweeping the Bulldogs. Individual scores for the match were 30-27, 30-20, and 30-28. In the first game, Gonzaga opened a 23-17 lead only to see the Gaels run off 13 of the next 16 points to get the win. Saint Mary's posted a .447 hitting percentage in game two to out-match the Bulldogs for the win. The final game saw Gonzaga open a 6-2 lead before the Gaels? rally. Saint Mary's out-hit the Bulldogs .391 to .196 in the final game only to win by two points.

Avilla notched double digits in kills for the second straight night. Rebecca Wood posted a .429 hitting percentage and eight kills. Meagan Smith and Lindsey Bogason had nine kills each for Saint Mary's and freshman Lindsay Hardy equaled Avilla with a match-high 12 digs.

For Gonzaga, Christina Davis had a match high 12 kills with a .346 hitting percentage. Abby Cullen had 11 kills and setter Kat Croustovska had a double-double with 39 assists, a match-high, and 10 digs to lead the team.
