Nov. 10 -- The University of San Diego Volleyball program celebrated senior night in the Jenny Craig Pavilion Saturday night with a three game sweep of the Portland Pilots 30-20, 30-28, 30-14. San Diego picks up their 20th win of the season, improving to 20-7 overall and 8-3 in the WCC. USD finished their 2001 home schedule 11-3. Portland falls to 6-16 on the season and 2-10 in WCC play.

The Toreros honored senior?s Lindsey Lampert, Ann Mott and Ali Martin. All three seniors were key factors in Torero success over the past four years, hoping to appear in their third NCAA Tournament this season. Martin leaves USD as one of the best setters in USD history after totaling over twenty four hundred assists in her career. Lampert is the league leader in solo blocks this season and has helped USD win 20 games for the third time in the last four seasons.

Portland gave USD all they could handle in game two leading 26-22. But San Diego freshman Kalae Araujo served a pair of aces to pull the Toreros ahead late in the game. Araujo totaled five aces on the night. San Diego freshman Devon Forster led the Toreros with 14 kills and posted a .423 attacking percentage.
