Nov. 17 -- USF's four seniors accounted for more than 60 percent of the Dons' offense, but it wasn't enough against #19 Santa Clara, who swept the Dons 30-24, 30-16, 30-28 Saturday in the 2001 West Coast Conference volleyball finale at War Memorial Gym. With the win, Santa Clara secures no worse than a share of second place in the WCC final standings for the 2001 campaign. San Francisco entered the night tied with Gonzaga for a share of fifth place in the standings, but a Gonzaga home win against Portland propels the Bulldogs into fifth place and sends USF into sixth place.

Freshman outside hitter Megan Johnston chipped in 10 kills for the balanced Bronco attack while setter Kelli Sousa dished out 46 assists.

Sophomore outside hitter Brittanie Budinger recorded eight kills, while senior middle blocker Nikki Stover added five kills to go along with a career-high equaling seven blocks for the Dons.
