Dec. 6 -- Saint Mary's College head women's volleyball coach Ron Twomey today announced his resignation, effective December 5. Twomey served a six-year stint with the Gaels that ended with a 5-21 season in 2001.

"Saint Mary's College appreciates the dedication Ron showed to the program and the care he showed for the student-athletes," stated Carl R. Clapp, Director of Athletics. "We wish him the best of luck in his future endeavors."

Twomey's career at Saint Mary's began with the 1996 season. Over the next six years, he led the Gaels to a 50-113 overall record, while posting a 24-60 mark in West Coast Conference games. Twomey's best season came in 2000 when he led Saint Mary's to an 11-15 overall mark and a tie for fourth place in the WCC with a 7-7 conference record.
