MALIBU, Calif. - TCU opened the second half of Sunday's contest on a 15-6 run and to break open what was a 34-34 tie at the half as the Lady Frogs ended Pepperdine's four-game win streak with a 74-56 victory in Fort Worth, Texas.
Teiosha George scored a team-high 14 points on 5-of-10 shooting, including 4-of-6 from the charity stripe. Texas native Shannon Johnson had 12 points and Daphanie Kennedy added 11 for Pepperdine (6-3).
Pepperdine outscored TCU (4-3) 9-1 during a three-minute span midway through the first half to erase an eight-point deficit and tie the game at 23.
Johnson's two free throws with 2:45 remaining in the first half provided Pepperdine with its largest lead of the game 31-27.
TCU trailed just in the second half after Nakeya Isabell's lone trey put Pepperdine up 39-38 just over two minutes into the half.
TCU's Ashley Davis scored a career-high 23 points and Lori Butler-Rayford added 16. The Lady Frog's bench outscored Pepperdine 20-10.
