Gonzaga at Loyola Marymount
Gonzaga travels to Loyola Marymount to tip off conference play on Friday night, pitting two of the WCC's preseason favorites against one another. The Zags enter the weekend with an 8-8 overall mark after defeating Montana State at home last weekend, while the Lions currently sit at 8-6 following a split at the Iowa State Tournament to close out non-conference play.
The Zags feature one of the league's most dominant post players in Stephanie Hawk, as the senior is leading the squad in scoring (13.7 ppg), rebounding (6.1 rpg), and blocks (2.25 bpg). Head Coach Kelly Graves' team has also gotten help from a pair of talented newcomers in freshman Heather Bowman (10.0 ppg) and junior transfer Michelle Elliott (12.8 ppg).
The Lions have enjoyed a successful start behind the strong play of junior transfer Jennifer Hall, who is leading the team in scoring (13.7 ppg) and rebounding (7.8 ppg). Senior guard Amanda Patton ranks second on the squad in scoring (10.2 ppg), and enters the weekend ranked third on the LMU career list with 113 treys during her time as a Lion.
