"With less than 700 tickets remaining, we couldn't be more thrilled by the response of our loyal WCC fans," said WCC Commissioner Jamie Zaninovich. "The 2009 basketball championships were such a successful milestone event for the conference, and to have the demand for tickets continue this season is a testament to the passion of our fans for WCC basketball."

In addition, the WCC has negotiated new rates with the Orleans Hotel for this year's championships. The new lower rates are $45 for Wednesday and Thursday (originally $50) and $110 for Friday and Saturday (originally $130). The rate for Sunday-Tuesday remains at $50.

To take advantage of these new rates, fans must identify themselves as an attendee of the WCC Tournament Fan Block by using the group code 0FANC03 (all fans who booked under the WCC fan code at the higher rate will automatically get credited with the new, lower rate). The 2009 WCC Basketball Championships were the most highly anticipated championship event in Conference history, reaching a sell out two weeks prior to the tournament last March. The event set championship records for single session attendance (7,845) and overall championship attendance (33,320).

On July 22, 2009, the WCC announced a three-year extension with the Orleans Arena to keep the event in Las Vegas through 2012. The West Coast Conference (WCC) and its multi-media rights partner, IMG College, later announced Zappos.com as the official title sponsor of the WCC Men's and Women's Basketball Championships. The three-year deal, effective through the 2011-12 season, marks the WCC's first-ever title sponsorship.
