WCC Announces Players Of The Week

WCC Women's Basketball Player of the Week: Renahy Young, LMU
Sophomore Renahy Young averaged 16 points per game over the week and was perfect from the line (7-7), helping LMU take down two teams that were previously unbeaten in conference play. Against Saint Mary's, Young had a team-high 16 points, three rebounds, and two steals to help LMU to its first conference win of the season. She had 11 points in the first half as LMU jumped out to a 16-point halftime lead and never looked back in a 68-52 victory. Against San Diego, in front of a national TV audience, Young went 6-for-12 from the floor to equal her season average with 16 points to snap San Diego's six game win streak, which was the longest in the conference.

Austin Daye averaged 22.5 ppg on 75 percent shooting in Gonzaga's wins over Santa Clara and USF.

WCC Men's Basketball Player of the Week: Austin Daye, GON
Gonzaga sophomore Austin Daye was spectacular in the Zags' wins over Santa Clara and San Francisco. Daye started the week with 20 points, on 8-of-10 shooting from the field, and seven rebounds in just 17 minutes of action in the Bulldogs' win over Santa Clara. The Irvine, CA native followed that up with a career-high 25 points, on 10-of-14 shooting, and nine rebounds in the Zags' win against San Francisco on Saturday. For the week, Daye averaged 22.5 ppg, 8.0 rpg, and 2.0 bpg, while shooting a blistering 75 percent from the field (18-for-24).
